Work is progressing on the new café bar restaurant and facilities building. The glulam structural supports and roof beams were recently craned into place and the building is beginning to show its unique shape.
One of Newcastle’s top restaurants, The Herb Garden, are the operators for the cafe bar restaurant. The new restaurant is expected to open in the autumn and The Herb Garden are planning to run a ‘pop up’ restaurant at some marina events during the summer.
The Herb Garden’s vision for the new venture at Royal Quays Marina is to run a relaxed café style by day and an intimate restaurant in the evening which will be heavily inspired by its marina environment. Current plans include a large outdoor seating area so that diners can enjoy al fresco dining with stunning views over the marina basin and the River Tyne beyond.
